It’s Kind Of Hard To Grow Up When You’re Learning 3 Different Offenses Every Year

Published by gg under Uncategorized

Those are the words of the great Emmitt Smith on the post game show of Monday Night Football.

I was looking for a couple videos on YouTube with Emmitt doing post game analysis. I believe the first one was when Dallas came back to beat Buffalo early in the season and Emmitt said something like, “In the words of Jim Valvano, don’t quit, don’t ever quit.”

The second was something like, “A tiger never loses his spots.” A tiger Emmitt, really?

Anyway, the only thing I could find is this. In summary, Emmitt Smith is a great man.

2008 Nakamoto Walk Or Run For Fun - The Race

Published by gg under Uncategorized

The 2008 Nakamoto Walk Or Run For Fun is now over and I am so glad. I won’t have to run for a good six months and my body can rest from the pain and punishment I have been giving it.

It was a successful event as our friends and family raised over $450 for the Boys And Girls Club in San Jose. The club, where many of my Uncles spent some time in their youth, was the place we donated to last year. This year, we voted on three places, and it won again.

I know what you’re all thinking. Who won the race? Was it the defending champion Eddy Zucko? Was it GG? Was it someone else.

Well, you’ll have to watch the video.

Thanks to everyone for pitching in. My mom coordinated much of the event and my sister, Tomiko, Janene and I headed up the committee. Several of the aunts helped out as well, and my dad made the plaque that you will see in the video. A great time was had by all.

If you want to see most of the photos from the video and a few more, click here. If you click the “send to album” button at the top you can e-mail more pictures to the album.

Also, if you want to see the video in better quality, click here.

Basketball Blog - The Wackness

pink = Spurs
And so it goes. Soon the bandwagon will fill to the brim. Sir Charles was giving lots of loving last night, reserving his spot. Thank goodness the WCFs are on the We Know Drama channel, because if this was the Sports Leader…well the coverage would be on par with the objectivity, below suckness. It’s actually fitting that the Sports Leader has the JV Conference Finals with their eastern sports teams bias. They can ball wash to their heart’s content.

2nd Annual Nakamoto Walk Or Run For Fun

Published by gg under Uncategorized

My mom wanted me to send this out since she didn’t have addresses for everyone she wanted to send an invitation to. If you see this page, consider this your invitation. If you do want to attend (and didn’t already previously RSVP), either shoot me an e-mail or comment below. Really, everyone is invited.

Last year, at the 1st Annual Nakamoto Walk Or Run For Fun, we raised $420 to give to The Boys And Girls Club. We?re going to have the run again, and hopefully we?ll raise even more money for another deserving charity.

When and Where: We?re getting together at Vasona Park again (the main entry on Blossom Hill Rd. next to the blue playground) for the race and family potluck on Monday, May 26, which is Memorial Day.

Time: The race will begin at 9:00AM, so please prepare to show up early. The park will be much busier than it was last year.

RSVP: Tomiko or Auntie Suki will be calling everyone, helping them prepare what to bring, so that we have some variety.

After the run, as a family, we will be voting on which charity we want to donate the money to. Whichever organization receives the most votes will be the one we hand deliver the money to, in the name of the Nakamoto Family.

Also, please tell your friends. We would love for this event to grow beyond just our immediate family.

Edson is the defending Nakamoto Walk Or Run For Fun champion and he?s taking on all comers.

American Idol Season 7: And Then There Were 2

Published by gg under Uncategorized

And so it goes, so it goes. Though I wish that Syesha would’ve thrown a wrench into the American Idol process, it wasn’t going to happen. The David vs. David possibility was just too strong. You could argue that those judges worked hard to make sure their influence was felt and for some reason, whatever the reason was, they didn’t like Syesha very much.

Though vocally, I liked Carly the best early on, the two Davids were the two favorites. When the Luchadors and I did our audio preview before the Top 12 started, I said that all three Davids had a shot to win. Too bad one of the Davids flaked on me at the beginning of the season. But from very early on, Idol was pushing the David vs. David angle on us.

The Hot List (based on last week’s performances)

1. David Cook - If I were Las Vegas, I’d have him as the betting favorite.
2. David Archuleta - The kid has done well for himself.

The Departed

1. Young David Hernandez
2. Young Amanda Overmyer
3. Young Chikezie
4. Young Ramiele Malubay
5. Old Michael Johns
6. Young Kristy Lee Cook
7. Young And Tattooed Carly Smithson
8. Curly Brooke White
9. Young Jason Castro’s Dread Locks
10. Young Syesha Mercado

GG vs. Eddy Zucko - The Final Promo

This is just plain wacky. Even Fonzi while on water skis would’ve thought this one went a little bit too far.

See you on Memorial Day. Yeah~!

More On “90210”

Published by gg under Uncategorized

Back when I first discussed the idea of a new Beverly Hills, 90210 there wasn’t much information. Then came the story that the Kelly Taylor character might be coming back and Jennie Garth would be reprising her role. There’s now way more information about the show.

- The show is set for Tuesday nights at 8PM in the fall on the CW Network. Kelly Taylor will now play a guidance counselor. Maybe she’ll be Mrs. Teasley’s right hand woman.

- It will simply be called, “90210”.

- It looks like Tori Spelling will also be back as Donna.

The New Cast

- Take a look really closely and you’ll see a woman in a yellow dress. That is Lori Loughlin from Full House, Uncle Jesse’s wife.

- Other things I’ve heard include that kin from David Silver’s family will be part of the story. There’s also been talk that Hannah, Andrea and Jesse’s daughter will be on the show. Lastly, Ian Ziering has been seen knocking on the doors of CW executives dressed in a mustache disguise trying to get their attention after they already told him he wouldn’t be part of the series. Ok, I’m kidding on that last one.

Edit:

This showed up just today.

Mariah Carey’s E=MC² - The Emancipation Of Nick Cannon

Published by gg under Uncategorized

This review was originally published on Epinions.com.

(Don’t worry, this review won’t be about Nick Cannon. Actually, big ups to Nick. I didn’t know the dude had it in him. Until this time, he was most famous for making that serious face while drumming in Drumline, but now, he just wedded that chick.)

Mariah Carey’s latest number one album should’ve been titled, More Of The Same. As a 38 year old pop star who has had her ups and downs, more of the same could be a good thing. For Mariah’s case, it might be, based on her sales numbers so far. But my worry about this trend is that for someone who has been around for almost 20 years, Mariah should worry less about satisfying the trendy kid crowd, and more about satisfying her now grown up audience. Though she’s not an afterthought by the buying public like Janet Jackson now is, she’s also catering to disappearing crowd. Her future, in my opinion, is going to be an adult audience, especially as she gets older herself. This latest album is full of wannabe hip hop tracks, much like her albums after Daydream (her best album in my opinion) have been. To think that Mariah is old enough to be a mom to the audience she is catering to leads me to believe that Miss Honey B. Fly is going to soon need to figure out how to grow, rather than how to run on a treadmill.

The Happy Couple
